Végan à Paris

When a vegan revives fashion from the 90's and I end up staying at her place because of a cancelled flight.

I always had a weakness for the look of the 90's. (Haha, I remember being the only one at a 90's themed party with an appropriate outfit which I borrowed from my father!) However, spotting this style at a Paris fashion event kinda surprised me. My friend Kiko invited me to photograph her show for sustainable Parisian fashion brands in early December. Thus, full of excitement I prepared for Paris: The first time in my life! Whoop whoop! Yet when the time came news reported about strikes crippling the whole city. So my flight got cancelled. But I could take another one the next day. The bus from the airport (not a public one) cost me 20€ and dropped me off at the Eiffel tour. From there I walked with a big trolley full of heavy camera equipment two hours to the venue of the show. Actually my idea was to dress appropriately and take a shower. But now there was no time anymore. I helped with the preparations and only managed to change my smelly T-Shirt to a white shirt before the music for the show started. BTW, did you watch my IG-Video

I met lots of colorful people. Designers, models, caterers, small shop owners. Everyone passionate about slow-living, slow producing and mindful consuming. The next day I browsed through the clothes of two designers who had caught my eye the evening before. Isabelle who is upcycling second hand fashion with messages about a vegan lifestyle. And Emy who produces casual street styled clothing from sustainable materials. We thought the clothes match each other well so we set up a photo shoot for the next day.

Returning to Berlin was not so easy either. The strikes had been prolonged and my flight was canceled again. Although this gave me two more days in the Paris, now I had the problem of finding accommodation for two more nights. Ayay, a stupid feeling. In the end Izy helped out and let me sleep on the couch in her apartment. I left Paris with a feeling of gratefulness and many beautiful pictures. Some of them I'd like to share here.
